This weekend we hear from Molly Mares, Principal at Notre Dame of De Pere.

Dear Parishioners of St. Francis Xavier and St. Mary,

As we close out Catholic Schools Week, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of our school. Each day of Catholic Schools Week has a focus of celebration: community, students, vocations, nation, faculty, and parish. The celebration of parish is often tagged at the beginning of Catholic Schools Week but this year we saved the very best for last by wrapping up the week with this celebration. It would be incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to have an authentically Catholic school without a strong parish partnership.

We are blessed to be able to teach our students about Mass and ministries alongside the daily mass attendees at St. Francis Xavier. Celebrating as part of a community helps our students recognize the power of the prayer of Mass. We so appreciate the warm welcome as students grow in their knowledge of lectoring, serving, singing, and prayer. We are blessed to have priests who love to teach about our faith. The connections and explanations of scripture shared during weekly homilies are so meaningful. If you don’t know how Minecraft and Mary are connected, you are missing out! Our school and our parish Discipleship Formation program are truly successful due to the parish community valuing our young people by investing in their faith journeys. Thank you – during Catholic Schools Week, and every other week!

Many blessings,

Molly

Molly and her husband Jon have two sons at Notre Dame of De Pere, Cal and Jackson. They enjoy watching their boys grow up, spending time outdoors and playing with their dog, Ruby. Molly’s passion for Catholic education is rivaled only by her love of coffee.
