Become Catholic

RCIA is a process that explores what the Catholic Church believes and what it has to offer. The group meets weekly, beginning in early October, and culminates with the Easter Vigil (Holy Saturday) when one enters the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism (if not already baptized), Confirmation and Eucharist (Communion). The RCIA process is designed for people who:

  • have never been baptized
  • were baptized in another Christian tradition (Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, etc.) and wish to become Catholic
  • were baptized Catholic but had little to no religious formation beyond baptism

To learn more about becoming a member of the Catholic faith, or assisting as a catechist (teacher), contact Robin Therese, Pastoral Associate.

Catholic Schools

Notre Dame of De Pere School

Notre Dame School of De Pere is part of the GRACE (Green Bay Area Catholic Education) system. GRACE is a faith-based school system with a focus on individualized learning within 9 Green Bay area Catholic schools. St. Mary and St. Francis Xavier share the responsibility for supporting the school in time, talent and treasure. Notre Dame School of De Pere offers classes for Pre-school through 8th Grade students. Weekly Masses are celebrated with the children at St. Francis Xavier Parish. Sacramental programs are included in the curriculum and implemented through the parish of the child’s family.

Site Advisory Committee

The Notre Dame Site Advisory Committee is an active leadership group which serves primarily as an advisory body to the principal and works in collaboration and with our parishes and the GRACE System to set the strategic direction for the school. Our pastor and the business administrator for both parishes serve on the committee. The SAC meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm at Notre Dame Middle School.

SCRIP Sale

SCRIP is a fundraising program that provides a regular source of income for the school and our parishes through the sale of gift cards for local businesses. SCRIP is available for purchase in the Gathering Area of St. Mary and St. Francis Xavier after all weekend Masses and at the Scrip office at Notre Dame Middle School. Order forms for St. Mary and St. Francis Xavier Parishes list the businesses who participate in our program. A percentage of each purchase is donated to the parish or school by the business.
