Volunteer opportunity-Craft quilts in the quilter’s space in the basement of church or at home
The St Mary’s Quilters have 4 sales at St. Francis Xavier and St. Mary Parishes after the weekend Masses annually. This, along with three craft sales, make for a very profitable year. This past year, the quilters were able to donate $5500 to St. Mary, $1000 to both Paul’s Pantry and
De Pere Christian Outreach Pantry and $750 to both Journey Church of De Pere and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Freedom. (Two of our most active women are from these two churches.)
Considering that all of this takes place in the last 3 months of the year and at the same time we had orders for 8 King size quilts and there are only 7 active members, we feel very blessed for the talent of these ladies and the sales we had.
The Quilters have also purchased the supplies and designed and made three sets of banners that hang in the narthex of the church. These saved our parish over $10,000. They will still be working on more sets as we travel through the liturgical year.
God has been very good to us. We thank Him for the talents He has given us, the time that we are able to spend together and the great support that we receive from our parish. Looking forward to another fun, challenging and profitable year.
