Get Involved! Outreach Ministry

Please contact the Parish Office for more information or to volunteer.

Our parish assists those in need through collections held during the Advent and Lenten Seasons of our Liturgical Calendar.

The Lenten Giving Tree is placed in the Gathering Area prior to Ash Wednesday and decorated with tags that list items that are needed by local charitable organizations. Parishioners select a tag, purchase items or gift cards, and then return them to the Gathering Area. Items are collected through Palm Sunday. Volunteers assist in delivery to the organizations.

Volunteers from our parish work with De Pere Community Outreach to collect Christmas wish lists for individuals and families in need during Advent. A Christmas tree is placed in the Gathering Area and decorated with wish list tags. Parishioners select gift tags, purchase items, and return them unwrapped to the Gathering Area. The gifts are brought to a central community location for distribution.

Our parish supports the DPCO Food Pantry through year-round food collections and through our annual Wall of Food drive held in the fall. A shopping cart is placed is the Gathering Area for placement of food donations.

Volunteers from St. Mary prepare and serve meals at the NEW Community Shelter on the third Monday of every month. St. Mary provides some of the food. Donations from parishioners help to purchase the food that our parish provides for the meal.

Volunteers from St. Mary serve meals at the Freedom House every month. Freedom House is the only shelter in Brown County providing assistance to all types of homeless families with children.

Our parish supports the EPH mission of providing housing for those in need. Our parish representative acts as a liaison between the organization and the parish to meet the needs of homeless families in our community. Volunteers from our parish help to maintain the Green Bay area home that we support through structural upkeep, lawn maintenance, snow removal and donations.

The Catholic men of the Abbot Pennings Council of the Knights of Columbus are involved in over 30 projects a year, which range from helping people with intellectual disabilities, collecting food for local food pantries, and providing financial aid to seminarians to sponsoring activities for the youth of the De Pere community. The Corporate Communion Mass and Social is held annually at either St. Mary or St. Francis Xavier.

Love Life

Love Life is an ecumenical outreach service supporting low-income families with infants and toddlers up to three years of age in Brown County. Providing diapers, layettes and when available, recycled baby furniture and toys, gently used clothing, formula, and baby food are part of their mission. They also help with Pack ‘N Plays and car seats.

A Pack ‘N Play is placed in the gathering of St. Mary and St. Francis Xavier during the months of February and March for collection of needed items.
